The nature of the online environment as spaces
of connection.
This virtual garden on the common.garden platform was created as part of the Digital Explorers residency program at Witte Rook in September-October 2024.
During this period, I explored the meaning of ‘site-specific’ in the context of online environments as spaces of connection. I used the garden as a meeting space to reflect on this topic with various guests. These conversations were guided by perspectives that play a significant role in my practice, including the nature of bubbles and spheres, hardware-software network architecture, quantum physics, and the influence of the digital dimension on our lived experience of time and space in the physical world.
The meetings and observations took form as traces in images and text. New visitors are still encouraged to contribute to this evolving digital ecosystem, which connects human, natural, and artificial agents.
